Chair of the Board
John was the CEO of Zenith Bank from 2013 to 2017 and prior to that he was the CEO of the European Islamic Investment Bank. He spent 19 years at Bank of America and was COO of its European subsidiary. John chairs our board.
Senior independent director
Amy has held executive positions in lending, risk and operations at Wonga, OneSavings Bank and Bank of America. Prior to moving to the UK, she was Director of Credit for MBNA America. Amy also sits on the Boards of Monzo and FCMB Bank (UK) Ltd.
Naomi has 25 years of experience across people, commercial, operational and product roles, and has spent more than ten years in leadership roles for Software as a Service organisations. She has extensive experience managing rapid scale-ups. Naomi chairs our People and Governance Committee.
Douglas has ten years of senior management experience in the UK's regulated banking sector. He was the CRO and Director of Crown Agents Bank. Prior to that, he was CFO for Crown Agents Bank and Director for the Northern Trust Ireland Pension Plan. Douglas chairs our Risk Committee.
David is the CEO and co-founder of Griffin. He has spent nearly a decade working as an infrastructure engineer at companies like Airbnb and CircleCI. He also worked on the core banking system at API banking startup Standard Treasury, acquired by Silicon Valley Bank in 2015.
Allen is the CTO and co-founder of Griffin. He is also a founder and former CTO of CircleCI. He has advised prominent financial technology firms on their internal technology development and helped Funding Circle stress-test a new version of its internal ledger technology.
Paul was the lead investor in Griffin's seed round. He is a co-founder of online job search and recruitment business Indeed.com. He is active in the UK's angel investment community and has significant Board experience with technology businesses.
Tom is a venture capital partner at EQT Ventures. He started his career in hedge funds at ING and PSAM. In 2010, he founded Tep, the mobile internet service for travellers. His EQT Ventures portfolio includes Cytora, Banking Circle, and Token.
Tom is a partner at Seedcamp where he sources and select companies for early stage investment and works closely with founders building market-leading companies. Prior to this, he worked for a large international law firm in London, where he specialised in VC fundraising and M&A.
